COAST>

The Korean Peninsula has some breathtaking coastline and beaches. The east coast, ribbed by the magnificent Diamond Mountains, falls abruptly to the East Sea. The west coast is riddled with shallow, narrow inlets that experience large tidal changes. The south coast is a labyrinth of pine covered islands.

Koreans love a day at the beach and public holidays in the summer can see the popular beaches swarming with holiday makers. If a teaming beach is not for you, try visiting in the spring or fall where you will have the whole beach to yourself.

Jeju Island, or the Korean Hawaii as the locals like to called it, draws tourists from the Korean mainland. It is very popular with honeymooners. Fly from all the mainland cities or take the ferry from the south coast ports.
